Whether you are a beginner or have some experience, you will find our breakdancing classes are authentic, fresh and fun.
The one hour, open level class is split into sections:
•Toprock - Toprock are moves performed standing up. The Kick Step is the most basic toprock move. It’s where you will start. Other toprock moves include the Indian Step, also called the Hip Twist.
•Downrock - The first downrock move you will learn is the 6-step. It is one of the foundations of breakdancing. Mastering the 6-step is essential because many breakdance downrock moves are based around it.
These are the 2 most basic moves in breakdancing. Learning the 6-step and the Kick Step will provide you with a foundation for more complex moves.
As you progress 2 advanced elements are introduced.
While there are infinite variations, many breakdancers use the same formula:
How does an open level classes work?
•Mastering breakdancing is not doing 10,000 moves 4 times.
•It’s doing 4 moves 10,000 times.
Everyone learns and uses the same moves. The more experienced dancers have just been doing it longer. As you progress, you refine and perfect these movements. You build muscle memory. Your moves get faster, more fluid, become more natural. You begin to think less, and you begin move to the pulse of the music.
